After an average show in Madarasi, Arjun is hopeful of turning things around with a commercial potboiler in Vathiyar. A Venkatesh is a reliable hand in rendering masala movies, and teams up with Arjun for the first time in Vathiyar. Azhagai Irukkirai - fame Mallika Kapoor plays Arjun's ladylove in the movie. An acclaimed actor-cum-director, Arjun flexes his muscles for a noble cause in the movie. The movie being produced by AP Garden Films has enough thrills and suspense to grab the attention of the film-buffs. Venkatesh said, 'My Vathiyar stands up tall to all issues affecting people in the society. He has a job to do, his way of repaying the individuals who look forward to him as the savior. You will find more than the brand of fire and enthusiasm in Arjun's performance.' Prakash Raj plays an important role in the movie, while Vadivelu will make you laugh all the way, he adds. Imman has composed the musical score. The movie in a nutshell is all about Arjun's exploits in bringing to book a few anti-socials. But Venkatesh has mixed enough commercial ingredients to give it a fresh feel.
